Permanent Eye Liner
Permanent eyeliner or eyelash enhancement helps women and men enhance their eyes’ appearance. It eliminates the need to outline eyelids with liquid liners or pencils and improves the appearance of missing, thin, or light colored lashes. Permanent eyeliner allows people to swim, shower, or exercise without having makeup smudges. It provides safety and convenience to people with oily skin, vision problems, or unsteady hands.
Aftercare Advice for Permanent Makeup
For the best results from you permanent makeup treatment it is imperative that you follow the recommended aftercare.
Eyebrows
Keep the area dry from water for at least 5 days. Wash around the brow area and do not let water touch the newly tattooed eyebrows.
Depending on your skin type, your technician will give you a sachet of A & D balm to aid with the healing process. This will lubricate the area and stop them drying out too much. If you have enough oils already in your skin, your technician may advise you to dry heal. This means not applying the balm, as too much oil/lubrication can lead to colour loss in newly treated brows.
You will experience dryness to extreme dryness during the first 1-2 weeks after treatment, this is normal. You may experience total colour loss during the first 1-2 weeks, this is also normal and colour will return. You may experience loss of colour by up to 50 % during the first 4 weeks after the first treatment, this is why we always do a retouch treatment.
Do not pick the area – this will cause colour loss.
Do not apply any other creams or make up to the area for 7 days – this will cause colour loss.
Areas that have faded will be refreshed at your retouch procedure.
Lips
Keep the area dry from water for 5 days. Do not pick at the dry skin on the lips.
Apply an extremely thin layer of A & D balm to the lips a maximum of twice a day. Constant application of the balm will lead to colour loss.
Lips will remain dry for 5-7 days. The colour will then disappear during the remaining healing process of 28 days. This is normal and lips will require the second treatment to reach the required colour depth. After the retouch this process will happen again – after 8-12 weeks the required colour depth is then reached.
Eyeliner
Eyes may appear puffy for 1-2 hours and in rare cases puffy for 1-2 days.
No after care balm is needed for eyeliner, due to the eyelids being oily enough for this procedure.
The colour will then disappear during the remaining healing process of 28 days. This is normal and eyeliner will require the second treatment to reach the required colour depth. After the retouch this process will happen again – after 4 weeks the required colour depth is then reached.
